Suicide prevention and grief education will be added to the curriculum from September 2026.
While this important initiative aims to help young people manage loss, reduce stigma around death, and promote positive mental health, we recognise that many teaching and support staff may not feel fully equipped with the skills, confidence, or awareness needed to deliver these subjects effectively.
We're the leading local mental health charity, trusted by the NHS to deliver specialist mental health services, including support in schools. We offer a range of services designed to support primary and secondary schools to meet these new curriculum requirements and to ensure staff and students feel supported.
During this free webinar, we'll introduce you to our school‑focused services, including: Clinical Specialists from Inside Out and Getting Help Schools In Mind Be Heard The Fundraising Team’s Wellbeing Offer You'll learn how each service works, who it supports, and how we can help young people affected by suicide or grief.
The webinar will also explore how schools can access additional support and confidently signpost pupils to the most appropriate service. There'll be plenty of opportunity to ask questions throughout the session. Following the webinar, all attendees will receive a digital toolkit to share with teaching and support staff, providing practical resources and clear signposting to help embed learning across your school.
